Kyla & Jason’s Session
Building a Brain Smart Classroom
The field of Neuroscience has provided great insight into how we learn both academically and emotionally. Participants in this session will learn practical strategies based on neuroscientific research to address academic and emotional needs in the classroom while avoiding pitfalls that may lead to unnecessary “brain drain”. This presentation will address learning strategies for both typical and non-typical learners. Techniques related to managing behavioral needs of students will also be discussed. This session will include novel ways to apply technology in the classroom to support a variety of learners and to facilitate greater academic engagement.
